Tobacco Prevention & Cessation is a unique journal as it covers all aspects of the prevention of tobacco use and the support of smoking cessation that offers a platform for the publication of research that would be able to lead to a tobacco free society. Due to the competitiveness of other journals in the field a lot of excellent regional and international research is not published and hence is a “missed opportunity” for tobacco control. Hence, editorial decisions are based on research and policy implications of an article.

Tobacco Prevention & Cessation in 2016 does not have author submission or open access fees as it is supported by the ENSP operating Grant from the European Commission. These means NO fees or costs related to open access publishing!

Once accepted and typeset all articles are free to download by all readers without any subscription. Articles published in open access journals are cited more frequently than those in non-open access journals. Furthermore, as all articles are published under the Creative Commons license, you retain ownership and copyright of the article.
