At the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention Conference held from 5th to 7th April 2016 in Brussels, the Outstanding European Health Research Award was presented to four European research project. This award is given to projects which have shown an extraordinary degree of dedication to promoting tobacco control activities on the basis of sound scientific evidence.
Awards were presented to the following European research projects involved with tobacco control and smoking prevention:
EQUIPT – European-study on Quantifying Utility of Investment in Protection from Tobacco
TackSHS – Tackling secondhand tobacco smoke and e-cigarette emissions
TOB-G – Tobacco Cessation Guidelines for High Risk Groups

Anton Kunst (r.), Professor at Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam receives the ENSP award to SILNE-R.
Hein de Vries, Professor in Health Communication at the department of Health Promotion, Maastricht University, receives the ENSP award to EQUIPT.
Professor Panagiotis Behrakis, Director of the Institute of Public Health of the American College of Greece, receives the ENSP award to TOB-G.
