ENSP Capacity Building and General Assembly in Vienna

As in the past few years tradition, ENSP Secretariat is organising a
Capacity Building Event for all our members with the aim to learn from
each other experience, share best practices and exchange the latest
developments on the WHO FCTC and EU TPD implementation. This year, the
ENSP CAPACITY BUILDING EVENT IS TAKING PLACE IN VIENNA (AUSTRIA) FROM
THE 12TH TO THE 14TH OF NOVEMBER 2018 at a time when Austria is
hosting the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event
will start on the 12th at 14:30 so to allow the participants to reach
Vienna on due time and will finish on the 14th with lunch so that
participants can arrange their flights back in the afternoon.

On 13 November in the afternoon, we will also hold the ENSP General
Assembly.

We anticipate an audience, which includes national representatives,
NGOs, academics, experts and also young people from around Europe, and
more specifically from Eastern European Countries.

PROGRAMME AND TOPICS

With our colleagues in Austria we have identified 2 priority topics
for this year Capacity Building Event: Smoke-free Policy and New
Products.

It will be a great opportunity to hear about the current status of
Smoke-free Policy and New Products in Europe, including success
stories and challenges. This would be particularly beneficial to our
colleagues working on Tobacco Control in Austria who are struggling to
protect their smoke-free law, but also to all of us to reflect on the
enforcement, monitoring and evaluation.

The discussion on New Products is an open debate globally and we
believe we need to be up to speed with the latest research-based
evidence and practices.

During the event, we will also take the opportunity to launch the ENSP
Young People Working Group.
